Alwinton holiday cottages are situated on the border of the Northumberland national park, within walking distance of the local village pub which sells good home cooked food. They are overlooked by the beautiful Harbottle Forest and near the banks of the River Coquet.

The Northumberland National Park is famed for its wide variety of rare animals. Some animals that visitors may be able to spot include rare birds, otters, red squirrels as well as deer and the Chillingham Wild Cattle.

Red Squirrel Hunt:

Join NWT for a short stroll along the Beeches Trail. Look for signs of red squirrels and finish off the evening in the red squirrel hide, where hopefully you can watch the cheeky creatures feeding! Meet at Leaplish Waterside Park reception. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear according to the weather. Insect repellent recommended.
